28 June — NZ Gardener Editor
Jo McCarroll, the Editor of NZ Gardener magazine, will speak on the history of the magazine.
26 July — Hamilton Gardens
Virginia Graham, President of Friends of Hamilton Gardens and passionate advocate of the Gardens, will outline the new developments at the Gardens in an illustrated talk.
August 23 — Biosecurity
Patrick Whaley from Waikato Regional Council will speak on why we need biosecurity and the processes involved, giving numerous examples.
September 27 — Gardens of England
Carmel Levick, the Society’s
President, will give an illustrated presentation of gardens she has
visited in England, including Mottisfont Abbey, Hidcote and Sissinghurst.
October 25 — Birds in Waikato gardens
John Innes, a wildlife ecologist from Landcare Research, will discuss birds we might see in our gardens. He will also speak about his Tui research.
November 22 — Lilies
Several of the committee members from the Waikato Lily Society will give an illustrated presentation on the
magic and love of lilies.
